Simply Italian: Great Wines Americas Tour 2013 Kicks Off at the Miami Culinary Institute

Miami, FL--   January 25, 2013- Simply Italian: Great Wines Americas tour commences its 13th annual trade tastings in Miami, Florida, presented by International Event and Exhibition Management, I.E.E.M., and I.E.M., International Exhibition Management. The event, known for successfully bringing together leaders in the wine industry, will take place on February 5th at the historic landmark building, The Freedom Tower. Over 30 participating wineries from all over Italy will be present during this exclusive event, open to trade professionals. Recognized for its cultural significance, the event has been included as part of the Italian Cultural Program 2013 by the Consulate General of Italy.
Miami Culinary Institute and Miami Dade College have partnered with I.E.E.M for a series of guided tastings and seminars presented by distinguished experts Master Sommelier Laura De Pasquale and World-Renowned Sommelier Charlie Arturaola, as well as a food and wine pairing with wines from the Veneto Region and international delicacies presented by Charlie and award-winning chef Sarah Freedman-Izquierdo. Following the initial series of seminars, the walk-around wine tasting at the majestic Freedom Tower will showcase the participating prestigious wineries, accompanied by an offering of the fine cuisine from well-regarded Italian restaurants, Quattro, Salumeria 104, Spuntino Catering, Toscana Divino, Cioppino and others. During the event, a scholarship check will be presented by International Event & Exhibition Management for Miami Culinary Institute students.  I.E.E.M. is thrilled to partner with Miami-Dade College, the largest and most diverse college in the nation, with Simply Italian being the first of many future collaborations and cultural exchanges. 
For the first time ever, Simply Italian: Great Wines will be honoring some of the top in the industry with the “Simply the Best Awards”. Best Global Wine Communicator, Best Wine List in an Italian Restaurant, Best Wine List in an International Restaurant and Best Sommelier are a few of the titles that will be awarded during the ceremony, presented by the Italian General Council, Mr. Adolfo Barattolo.
Some of the participating wineries include familiar names such as Banfi Vintners, Ricci Curbastro, Zonin USA, exciting new estates from Sicily, Tuscany, Lombardy, Piedmont and selected wineries from winegrowing associations of the Friuli Venezia Giulia, the Chamber of Commerce of Udine and from Veneto, Unione Vini Veneti.  Also exhibiting will be  wineries of the Istituto Grandi Marchi, a collection of Italy’s top winemaking producers including Alois Lageder, Ambrogio & Giovanni Folari Tenute,  Antinori, Ca’ del Bosco, Carpene’ Malvolti, Donnafugata, Gaja, Jermann, Lungarotti,  Masi, Mastroberardino, Michele Chiarlo,  Pio Cesare, Rivera, Tasca d’Almerita and Umani Ronchi.
The Simply Italian program will conclude in Miami with a cocktail party on the rooftop of the Dream Hotel with more fantastic wine to taste and bites from Serafina restaurant.

Simply Italian: Great Wines Americas Tour 2013 Returns to Mexico City

Miami, FL--   January 25, 2013- With the debut last year of Simply Italian: Great Wines Americas Tour in Mexico City being so successful, International Event and Exhibition Management (I.E.E.M) and International Exhibition Management (I.E.M.) have been asked to bring back the acclaimed event for another run. Taking place on February 7th at the Presidente Intercontinental Hotel, I.E.E.M. will host a guided seminar and tasting for the Sommelier Association, followed by a walk-around wine tasting for industry professionals.
Given an immense amount of interest and participation last year, coupled with requests from local importers, Simply Italian Americas Tour will return for a second edition. The event begins with a guided tasting “Tradition and Innovation” with some of the most prestigious wines from Italy and will cover a wide range of topics presented by Riccardo Ricci Curbastro, President of Federdoc and with the esteemed enologist, Jesus Diez Sanchez, followed by a wine and food pairing seminar “Veneto, Land of Perfection” with wines from the Veneto region paired with Mexican specialties presented exclusively for La Asociación Mexicana de Sommeliers A.C. The seminars will be followed by a walk-around wine tasting, open to qualified trade including importers, wholesalers, on and off premise beverage professionals, print, broadcast and internet media.
Notable groups present include U.Vi.Ve. consortium from the Veneto region with participating wineries including Tinazzi, Canella, Villa Mattielli, Cantine Riondo, Colli di Soligo and Bortolomiol Spa. The Istituto Grandi Marchi, a collection of Italy’s top winemaking producers will also be exhibiting at the event with Donnafugata, Masi, Mastroberardino e Michele Chiarlo. Individual estates from Lombardy, Tuscany, Piedmont, Sicily, Veneto will also be present such as Ricci Curbastro, Cantina di Cormons, Cesconi, Tenuta Sant'Antonio, Piera Martellozzo, Tenuta Carretta, Tenuta Roveglia, La Cignozza, , Conte D'Attimis, Baglio dei Fenicotteri, Glocal Wines and Primosic, and Argentiera will also be showcased.  Mexico City’s own Basicos Gourmet will also have a table to present their selection of imported Italian wines.

Simply Italian Americas Tour looks forward to coming back to Mexico, the second largest importer in Latin Americas of Italian wines.
